Main street is lined with many shops and restaurants. Many of the restaurants have outside gardens for dining.
The first recorded deed of the Little Hills property dates back to 1805, one year after Lewis & Clark arrived. The land was purchased for $1,500 with consideration of $500 in animal skins. For approximately 10 years the restaurant building housed a pharmacy, and eventually became a meat locker and processing plant. During Prohibition, bootleg whiskey was sold out the back door. After Prohibition it became a tavern called The Golden Buffet and remained as such until Little Hills purchased it in 1986.
In 1998, David and Tammy Campbell (pictured above) purchased the restaurant and have grown the establishment to include not only the restaurant and working winery utilizing local caverns where much of the bottling is done, but also a gift shop just a few blocks further south on Historic Main Street. Biography Greg Kluempers I started developing my style in 1970 when I bought my first 35mm camera and attended several photography and art classes at FVCC. This early work was black and white darkroom photography. I was in my first show in 1972. While working full time as an engineer at Boeing, I returned to Florissant Valley at night in 1999 and completed an associate degree in Photography in June, 2006. During this time, I learned to process color prints in the darkroom, started scanning my film, and learning photoshop to process my scans. In 2008 I purchased my first Canon digital camera and since then I have used only digital. In 2013 I switched over to Sony and I am now using a Sony Alpha a7R III.
